SQE1 Exam Preparation Platform
How SQEwise helps you pass SQE1
SQEwise combines smart practice questions, spaced repetition, full mock exams, and a personalised study planner — all built specifically around the SQE1 assessment. Here's exactly how it works, from the moment you register to the week before your exam.
01
Register and set your exam date
Creating an account takes two minutes. You enter your name, email, and target exam date — and whether you're sitting FLK1, FLK2, or both papers. No payment details, no setup questions. You get 25 questions every day from the moment you register, free forever.
Your exam date is used by the Study Planner, which calculates how many weeks remain and distributes your revision schedule based on it. Change the date at any time and the plan rebuilds automatically.

Your Dashboard — everything at a glance
The Dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in. It shows your daily streak, how many questions you've answered today versus your goal, and your current accuracy score for every SQE1 topic across both papers.
The Smart Selector reads this data in real time. If your Tort accuracy drops, the Dashboard flags it with a nudge and the algorithm immediately starts prioritising Tort questions in your next session — without you having to do anything manually.
The topic mastery list ranks every subject from strongest to weakest so you always know where your attention is needed most.
03
Smart Practice — targeted, not random
Every session is built by the Smart Selector using a 70/20/10 split: 70% from topics where your accuracy is below 60%, 20% from topics you haven't practised in seven or more days, and 10% from well-mastered areas to stop knowledge decaying.
Wrong answers return to your queue after 2 days. Correct answers return after 7. Questions never repeat within a session until you've seen the full topic bank. If two questions test the same legal principle, only one appears per session.
After every answer you get the full explanation — why the correct option is right, why each wrong option is wrong, and the relevant case law or statutory authority. This is what builds genuine legal knowledge rather than pattern-matching the options.
04
Topic Revision Notes and Key Cases
When your mastery on a topic drops below 60%, the Dashboard nudges you directly to the revision notes for that subject. There are concise summaries for all 13 SQE1 topics — key principles, common exam traps, statutory framework, and the cases you need to know.
The Key Cases reference puts 84 landmark cases across every FLK1 and FLK2 topic in a single searchable table. Filter by paper or subject, search by case name or legal principle, and use it as a quick-reference between practice sessions or before a mock.
05
Full Mock Exams under real conditions
Mock exams mirror the actual SQE1 format — 120 questions across FLK1 and FLK2, timed to 3 hours 15 minutes, with the same topic weighting used in the Kaplan assessment centre. Practising under real time pressure is the most reliable way to build exam stamina.
After submitting you get a full review of every question: your score split by FLK1 and FLK2, and the complete explanation for every answer. Mock exam results feed back into your Dashboard mastery scores so the Smart Selector adjusts for your next practice session.
Mock exams are a Pro feature. Free users can see the format and take a 10-question timed sample.
06
My Progress — your full performance picture
The Progress page gives you a deeper view than the Dashboard. At the top, four headline stats: total questions answered, overall accuracy, current streak, and your personal best streak.
Below that, a FLK1 vs FLK2 split shows your percentage accuracy for each paper separately, so you know which one needs more attention. Then the full Topic Breakdown table — every subject with its status badge (Strong, Building, Needs Work, Not Started), accuracy score, questions answered, and the date you last practised it.
Recent Activity at the bottom logs every question in order — correct or incorrect, topic, FLK paper, and date — so you can see exactly what you've been doing and where mistakes are clustering.
07
Study Planner — your revision week mapped out
Enter your exam date and the Study Planner generates a week-by-week revision schedule across all 13 SQE1 topics. It calculates how many study sessions you have left, distributes topics based on their FLK weighting, and flags which subjects need the most attention based on your current mastery scores.
Each daily session is a clickable block. Mark it complete as you go. If you miss a day or your mastery in a topic improves faster than expected, the planner recalculates the remaining weeks automatically.
Study Planner is a Pro feature. Available from day one when you upgrade.
08
Leaderboard — see where you stand
The weekly Leaderboard ranks all active students by accuracy and questions answered during the week. It resets every Monday, so there's always a fresh chance to climb the rankings.
Your row is always highlighted so you can instantly see your rank, accuracy, and question count against the rest of the cohort — whether you're in the top 10 or working your way up from further down.
It's not just motivational. Students who can see their relative standing tend to study more consistently. A visible benchmark makes the abstract goal of "passing SQE1" feel immediate and competitive.
Every question reviewed twice before it reaches you
Each question on SQEwise goes through a two-stage review process before it is published — checked for legal accuracy, clarity, and that one answer is unambiguously correct. Questions that don't pass are revised or removed.
- Stage one — quality check. Reviewed for factual accuracy, clarity of language, and correct legal authority before entering the question bank.
- Stage two — SQE specification check. Confirmed against the current SQE1 assessment specification to test the right learning outcomes at the right level of difficulty.
