Cookie Policy

How SQEwise uses cookies and how you can control them.

Last updated: 26 May 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — and they can improve your experience on return visits.

2. What cookies does SQEwise use?

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the platform to work and cannot be disabled:

  • wordpress_logged_in_* — keeps you logged in during your session
  • wordpress_sec — security cookie used by WordPress to verify login
  • wp-settings-* — stores your WordPress interface preferences

Functional cookies

These improve your experience but are not essential:

  • sq_*SQEwise preference cookies (e.g. remembering your topic filter choices in progress pages)

Analytics cookies

We may use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. If we implement analytics (e.g. Google Analytics), we will update this page. Currently, no third-party analytics cookies are set.

Payment cookies

If you subscribe, Stripe may set cookies as part of the payment process. These are governed by Stripe's own cookie policy.

Cloudflare cookies

Cloudflare (our CDN provider) may set the __cflb cookie for load balancing and the __cf_bm cookie for bot detection. These are strictly necessary for delivery of the service.

3. How to control cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Deleting cookies may affect your experience — in particular, you will be logged out of SQEwise. Browser guides:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies

4. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The date at the top of this page shows the last update.
